"Future of Europe” followed by a Presidents’ reception

The Austrian Social Partners have always been actively promoting the integration of Austria into the European Union. They have repeatedly expressed their commitment to European integration. From an economic and social point of view, a comprehensive participation of Austria in the European unification process is not only reasonable but also a cornerstone of the political identity of the Austrian Social Partners.

Since the outbreak of the financial and economic crisis, the European Union has been confronted with multiple aspects of the crisis. In their recently adopted declaration on the „Future of Europe“, the Austrian Social Partners wish to outline their joint proposals on the various economic and social challenges the European Union is faced with.

This declaration will be presented to and discussed with EU leaders and decision-makers in Brussels.

The Presidents of the Austrian Social Partners:

Erich Foglar, Austrian Trade Union Federation (ÖGB)

Christoph Leitl, Austrian Federal Economic Chamber (WKÖ)

Herbert Tumpel, Austrian Federal Chamber of Labour (BAK)

Gerhard Wlodkowski, Austrian Chamber of Agriculture (LKÖ)
