Labour Market Reform and the Future of Europe after Brexit

[08-12-2016 - 06-12-2016]
The European Social Observatory, AK EUROPA and the ÖGB Europabüro cordially invite you to their Lunchtime session on:

Labour Market Reform and the Future of Europe after Brexit

The Brexit vote has starkly revealed that there is a deep malaise in broad sections of the British population, particularly in its working-class communities, despite the UK being a 'good performer' on most of the indicators used to judge the effectiveness of European labour market policy mixes. During this OSE Lunchtime session Daniel Clegg will argue that – perhaps – the departure from the Union of the UK, which has been such an enthusiastic advocate for this ‘neoliberal’ approach to labour markets, opens a window of opportunity for a wider policy and paradigm reassessment in Europe. Amandine Crespy and Steven Van Hecke will respectively provide feedback on the ‘social causes’ and ‘political consequences’ of Brexit, also in the light of the recent US elections.
